The physicians and advanced practice registered nurses of Kosair Children’s Neonatal Specialists, formerly Neonatal Intensive Care Experts, PLLC (N.I.C.E.), are available 24/7 at Kosair Children’s Hospital, Norton Suburban Hospital and Norton Hospital.
Kosair Children's Neonatal Specialists provide advanced, individualized and compassionate care to newborns with conditions such as prematurity, infection and birth defects, and also cares for multiple-birth infants, whether natural or fertility-assisted.
Services
Routine Newborn Care
Kosair Children's Neonatal Specialists provide in-hospital routine newborn care for pediatricians who do not participate in hospital rounds. Specialists also provide pediatric referrals to families that are undecided on their provider.
High-Risk Neonatal Follow-Up
Kosair Children's Neonatal Specialists closely monitor children who are at increased risk for developmental problems. These are often children who have been born prematurely or at very low birth weight, and those with a known neurological abnormality or who were very ill during the newborn period. Based on the level of risk factors, specialists see children at different phases of development for all areas of pertinent development.
