Partnership to Eliminate Child Abuse
Every twenty-one minutes a child is abused. It can happen down the street, next door or across the hall from where you live. Childhood should be a time of innocence and joy. But increasingly, it is being stolen by abuse and neglect. Child abuse and neglect can result in permanent physical, emotional and mental damage to a child, and in its severest form, even death.
What can you do? First, report child abuse. Federal and state laws require that you report any suspected child abuse. If you suspect that a particular situation may involve child abuse, contact the Kentucky Child Abuse Hotline at (800) 752-6200.
For more information on resources and child abuse prevention, contact Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky 24/7 at (800) CHILDREN (244-5373) or visit www.pcaky.org.
