Brave Hearts
Friends, Fun and a future for pediatric heart patients
New FRIENDS:
The Brave Hearts is a support group of local families united by their children’s fight for life after being born with a complex congenital heart defect that required heart surgery. These children many times have endured multiple heart surgeries, heart transplants and other related medical issues.
For the parents of these children, learning their babies had a serious heart defect that required surgery was one of the scariest things to go though. As a team, these parents wish to provide support for other families navigating this uncertain path. The Brave Hearts are here, because we have been there. Contact the support group at braveheartskch@gmail.com.

Have FUN:
Being average doesn’t seem like much to strive for, yet it can mean everything for children who yearn to do things in a regular kid way. Camp BraveHearts gives these children that chance during a week at the Center for Courageous Kids in Scottsville, Ky. Children ages 6 to 16 who have congenital heart disease, who have undergone heart surgery, or who require medical treatment for heart disease get to experience summer camp as it was meant to be—the adventure of a lifetime! Our FUTURE:
One need for the medical team at Kosair Children’s Hospital right now is an ICU designated for heart patients. Over the next five years our fundraising goal is to contribute $100,000 toward the goal of establishing an ICU at Kosair Children’s Hospital designated for heart patients.
