Winter Safety for Kids
Erika Janes, R.N., coordinator of Safe Kids Louisville and Jefferson County, a program led by Kosair Children’s Hospital, says frostbite can be prevented by dressing properly for bitter cold and by limiting time spent outdoors. Janes, who works in the Office of Child Advocacy of Kosair Children’s Hospital, also told Get Healthy’s Jackie Hays that infants should not be out in the cold for extended periods of time.
